St Columban’s College, Caboolture has been named a finalist once again in the Australian Training Awards for 2017.
The college won this prestigious national award in 2014 and has sustained its position as a vocational education and training (VET) leader for more than six years.
The Australian Training Awards are the peak, national awards for the VET sector and recognises individuals, businesses and registered training organisations for their contribution to skilling Australia.
The college will now commence their journey through the award process towards the announcement of the national winner in late November.
The principal of St Columban’s College, Caboolture, Ms Ann Rebgetz reflected on the college’s association with the national awards.
“Getting to the top is challenging, and staying there is even more challenging,” Ms Rebgetz said.
“St Columban’s College, Caboolture results are outstanding and reflect the strategic vision of the college to ensure that every student participates in vocational education – living out the college mantra of every student every success.”
It was the results that ensured the 2014 win. The award was based on very specific outcomes and demonstration of:
– opportunities for students
– diversity of pathways
– depth and quality of programs
– vocational education courses; and
– meeting the needs of local employers
